Katherine Schwarzenegger is facing criticism online after posting a video of her husband, actor Chris Pratt, building a dollhouse for their daughters.

The Instagram post, shared on March 29, shows Pratt sanding and assembling a detailed wooden dollhouse for their children, Lyla and Eloise. The video is set to the song “Man I Need” by Olivia Dean. In the caption, Schwarzenegger wrote: “I’ll never understand when women say, ‘I don’t need my husband,’ when I very much in fact do need my husband. Because who else would build our daughters a dollhouse?” She also described Pratt as a “golden retriever husband.”

The post quickly attracted a large number of comments, many of them critical. Some users argued that her statement reflects a perspective shaped by wealth and privilege. Schwarzenegger is the daughter of actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver. Critics said her framing of “needing” a husband for practical tasks does not reflect the reality of many women who are independent.
