On Friday, April 3, Trump shared a photo on her Instagram Stories showing the couple relaxing together in a hammock. The image was captioned “Love you” along with two red heart emojis. The post came after several days of tabloid reports suggesting she was upset or considering ending the relationship in the wake of Woods’ legal troubles. Earlier in the week, Trump had remained active online but avoided addressing the incident, instead posting about her daughter Kai’s golf activities.
Woods was arrested on March 27, 2026, after a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, Florida. According to authorities, his Land Rover clipped a utility truck while attempting to pass at high speed, causing the vehicle to flip. He was charged with misdemeanor DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test, specifically a urine test.
Law enforcement reported that Woods registered a 0.00 blood alcohol level on a breathalyzer test. However, an arrest affidavit noted signs of impairment, including sweating and lethargy. Deputies also found two hydrocodone pills in his possession. Woods has cited his history of multiple back and leg surgeries as the reason for his prescribed medication use.
He has pleaded not guilty and retained the same attorney who represented him during a prior DUI case in 2017.
In a statement earlier this week, Woods said he would step away from competitive golf to focus on treatment and recovery. A court hearing scheduled for April 15 will determine whether he can travel out of state to enter an inpatient treatment program.
The incident has also drawn public comment from President Donald Trump, who said Woods is “doing great” but dealing with significant physical strain from past injuries. Body camera footage from the arrest reportedly shows Woods telling officers he had recently been speaking with the president.
