Hannah Einbinder Gets Emotional Ahead of ‘Hacks’ Series Finale Panel

Hannah Einbinder became emotional while discussing the upcoming series finale of Hacks during a panel event Wednesday at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.

The actress, who stars alongside Jean Smart in the Emmy-winning HBO Max comedy, covered her face and appeared overwhelmed on stage before turning the moment into a joke by dramatically falling to the floor. The audience laughed as Smart comforted her and the show’s creators teased that Einbinder had similar reactions throughout filming the final season.

Smart praised Einbinder’s performance, prompting applause from the crowd.

During the discussion, Smart and Einbinder also revealed they did not know how the series would end until they received the finale script. Smart said she was initially surprised by the ending but later felt it was “perfect.” Einbinder said the show “stuck the landing.”

The Hacks series finale begins streaming Thursday on HBO Max.
