Court records filed Thursday show the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office charged the 39-year-old actor with three misdemeanor counts of simple battery tied to an incident on Feb. 17 in the city’s French Quarter.
Police previously said LaBeouf was removed from a bar after causing a disturbance. Authorities allege he later struck one person, left the area, then returned and assaulted two people before officers arrived. He was arrested after receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
LaBeouf was initially charged with two counts of simple battery and later faced a third charge after a second arrest on Feb. 28. A judge ordered him to undergo substance abuse treatment, drug testing and post a $100,000 bond as conditions of release.
The actor, known for films including Transformers and Honey Boy, has publicly discussed his struggles with addiction and has faced several prior arrests over the years. Penalties tied to the current charges have not yet been announced.
