Kim Kardashian Faces Backlash Over Edited Japan Photos Featuring Khloé

Kim Kardashian is facing renewed criticism online after sharing photos from her recent trip to Japan, with many users accusing her of heavily editing images of her sister, Khloé Kardashian.

The backlash centers on a set of Instagram photos taken at an arcade in Tokyo. In one image, Kim and Khloé pose in front of a pink claw machine, but commenters quickly questioned Khloé’s appearance. Critics said her face looked overly smoothed and altered, with some describing it as “unrecognizable” or “cartoon-like.”

Others pointed to what they called a noticeable editing error involving height. Khloé, who is around 5 feet 10 inches tall, appeared nearly the same height as Kim, who is about 5 feet 2 inches. Social media users suggested Khloé may have been digitally resized or “pasted in” to fit the composition.

Another frequent criticism focused on both sisters appearing to have identical, very small “button noses,” which commenters said did not match how they have looked in recent public appearances, including events around the 2026 Oscars.

The reaction online has been largely negative. Many users accused the family of promoting unrealistic beauty standards through excessive photo editing, while others compared the images to paparazzi photos to highlight the differences. Comments such as “you don’t look like this in real life” and “we just saw you at the Oscars” were widely shared across platforms.

The controversy has overshadowed what was otherwise a high-profile family trip. Kim and Khloé were in Japan with their children in March 2026, and Khloé publicly described the vacation as a positive experience.

At the same time, the trip has drawn attention for another reason: Kim’s apparent relationship with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Several of Kim’s posts from the trip featured racing-themed outfits and go-kart scenes, which fans interpreted as a reference to Hamilton, who was in Japan for the Formula 1 race at Suzuka.

Dating rumors between Kim and Hamilton first gained traction in February 2026 when they were seen together at the Super Bowl. The speculation grew after Hamilton left a public comment on Kim’s social media following the Oscars.
