The incident reportedly began around 2:00 a.m. while Ice Spice was sitting in a booth with a friend. A woman later identified as a fan, Vayah, approached the table. Witnesses say the woman attempted to join them in the booth but was asked to leave. The situation quickly escalated.
Surveillance footage shows the woman leaning toward Ice Spice and slapping her across the face. In response, Ice Spice is seen jumping over tables and moving toward the woman as staff and others attempted to separate them.
The confrontation continued outside the restaurant. Additional video clips show a heated argument between the two groups. In one clip, Ice Spice appears to pick up and smash a phone believed to belong to someone involved in the incident.
Accounts of what led to the violence differ. Ice Spice’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, said the attack was unprovoked and suggested the individuals may have been trying to create a viral moment. He confirmed that the incident has been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department and that his client intends to pursue both criminal and civil action.
Vayah, speaking to TMZ, offered a different version. She said she approached the rapper to show support but claimed Ice Spice was dismissive and insulting. According to her, the situation turned physical only after she was called a derogatory name.
As of now, no arrests have been confirmed. The LAPD is investigating the incident. Ice Spice’s legal team is also reviewing whether the McDonald’s location had sufficient security measures in place.
Ice Spice briefly addressed the situation on social media, posting a short message: “this wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s.”
