Portman, 44, described the pregnancy as both a “privilege and a miracle.” She noted that her perspective is shaped in part by her upbringing as the daughter of a fertility doctor, which has made her more aware of the challenges many people face when trying to have children.
The baby will be her first with Destable, a French music producer. The couple has been together since early 2025, following Portman’s divorce from choreographer Benjamin Millepied. She shares two children with Millepied: a 14-year-old son, Aleph, and a 9-year-old daughter, Amalia.
In the interview, Portman said that her experience of pregnancy has changed with age. She described feeling more calm and grateful this time compared to her earlier pregnancies. She also said she is in good health and has been staying active through swimming and gyrotonics.
Portman acknowledged that the pregnancy carries a bittersweet feeling, as it is likely to be her last. She said she is making an effort to fully appreciate the experience.
Alongside her personal news, Portman continues to work professionally. Her production company, MountainA, currently has several projects in development.
