Trump Targets Springsteen as “Overpriced” Tour Draws Strong Sales

A public dispute between President Donald Trump and musician Bruce Springsteen escalated this week following the launch of Springsteen’s 2026 “Land of Hope and Dreams” U.S. tour.

On April 2, Trump posted a message on Truth Social criticizing Springsteen and urging supporters to boycott his concerts. In the post, Trump described Springsteen as a “bad, and very boring singer” and accused him of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He also called the concerts “overpriced” and told supporters to “save your hard earned money.”

The conflict intensified after Springsteen’s tour opening performance in Minneapolis on March 31. During the show, Springsteen sharply criticized the Trump administration, calling it “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous.” The performance also included visual elements tied to a new song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” featuring imagery critical of federal immigration enforcement and administration policies.

Trump’s comments about ticket prices reflect a broader concern among fans. Due to dynamic pricing, some tickets for the tour have reportedly reached between $3,000 and $5,000, drawing criticism even from longtime supporters.

Despite the political controversy and pricing concerns, the tour appears to be performing strongly. Industry reports indicate that most of the 20 scheduled shows are sold out, including upcoming dates in Portland and the final show at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

The American Federation of Musicians issued a statement in response to Trump’s remarks, defending Springsteen and describing the president’s comments as an attempt to silence a prominent artistic voice.

Neither Trump nor Springsteen has indicated any intention to step back from the dispute, suggesting the public exchange may continue as the tour progresses.
