Zayn Malik Dodges Thrown Water Bottles During London Q&A Event

Singer Zayn Malik narrowly avoided being hit by two water bottles during a Q&A event in Kingston, England, on Thursday.

Videos shared online show Malik leaving the stage at Banquet Records when two bottles were thrown from a balcony. One passed close to his face before he ducked, and a second bottle flew near his head moments later. Security quickly escorted him out of the venue. Footage appears to show one person throwing the bottles and shouting toward the singer.

The incident happened weeks after Malik canceled several U.S. and U.K. tour dates following multiple hospitalizations in April. He recently released his new album, Konnakol, and is expected to resume tour dates in the U.K. and Mexico on Saturday.

Malik thanked fans earlier this month for their support during his recovery, saying he was “doing well” and hoped to return “better and stronger than before.”

The event adds to a growing number of cases involving performers being struck by objects thrown from crowds. Recent incidents have involved artists including Bring Me the Horizon singer Oli Sykes, Riley Green, Harry Styles, Bebe Rexha, and Kelsea Ballerini.
