Miley Cyrus Says No Full ‘Hannah Montana’ Reboot After 20th Anniversary Special

Miley Cyrus has made it clear that a full reboot of Hannah Montana is not in the works, despite renewed fan excitement following the show’s 20th anniversary special.

Speaking at the premiere event in Los Angeles on March 23, 2026, Cyrus said she is already feeling exhausted after working on the special and is not interested in revisiting the role long-term.

“Girl, I’m already tired. This has already been a lot,” she said when asked about the possibility of a series revival.

The anniversary special, which began streaming on Disney+ and Hulu on March 24, was created as a tribute to fans rather than a setup for a reboot. Cyrus described the project as a “love letter” to those who grew up watching the show.

She also joked that the idea for the special started after media attention around a previous interview, where she mentioned her old hairstyle. According to Cyrus, that moment “started the drama” and led to the large-scale production.

The event brought together several original cast members, including Jason Earles, Moises Arias, and Cody Linley. Emily Osment was unable to attend due to filming commitments but sent a video message to fans.

The special was hosted by Alex Cooper and included a surprise appearance by Selena Gomez, who previously appeared on the show.

Fans also saw recreated versions of iconic sets from the series, including the Stewart family home and Hannah’s closet. Cyrus performed updated versions of popular songs from the show, including “The Best of Both Worlds,” “This Is the Life,” and “The Climb.”

While the anniversary celebration was well received, Cyrus appears firm in her decision to leave Hannah Montana in the past. The special stands as a one-time event marking the show’s 2006 debut, with no further projects currently planned.
