Maude Apatow Says She Grew Up Seeing Weed Gifts Sent to Her Dad

Actress Maude Apatow recently shared what it was like growing up in a Hollywood family during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Maude, 28, is the daughter of filmmaker Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann. She said her childhood was a bit unusual compared to others. Host Jimmy Kimmel joked about whether actor Seth Rogen, a frequent collaborator of her father, was around teaching her quirky things like how to smoke using a Barbie doll.

Maude laughed and said that while people might expect that kind of environment, her dad does not actually smoke marijuana. However, she revealed that many people assumed he did. Because of that, he was often sent large amounts of weed as gifts.

As a young child, this confused her. She recalled seeing packages of marijuana arriving at their home when she was about six years old and thinking something was wrong with her dad, since she believed it was something bad at the time.

Maude is one of two daughters; her younger sister, Iris, is 23.

In addition to acting, Maude has recently started working behind the camera. She made her directorial debut with a coming-of-age film called Poetic License, which stars her mother, Leslie Mann.

Mann has spoken about how proud she is of her daughter and said working together on the film was a special experience. She said she enjoyed spending every day with Maude during filming and even joked that her daughter is her favorite person, apologizing playfully to her husband and younger daughter.

Maude continues to build her career both as an actress and now as a director.
