According to filings from the Federal Election Commission reviewed by several outlets, including The Independent, a donor listed as Rozonda Thomas from Stone Mountain, Georgia — consistent with the singer’s background — contributed a total of just over $1,000. The donations include $210.60 to WinRed, a major Republican fundraising platform, $340.60 to the Trump National Committee Joint Fundraising Committee, and $486.54 to Never Surrender Inc., a group closely associated with President Donald Trump.
The revelations quickly gained traction online, prompting speculation about Thomas’s political views. In response, Chilli addressed the situation directly in a video shared with TMZ on March 29, 2026.
In her statement, she pushed back on assumptions about her intentions, emphasizing that her support was rooted in advocacy for veterans rather than partisan politics.
“I wanted to come on here to address a few things circulating on the internet that are very concerning to me,” she said. “The organizations [I supported] are the things that support the veterans. I have always supported the veterans.”
Her response has done little to quiet the broader discussion, as fans and commentators continue to debate the implications of celebrity political donations, particularly when they appear to conflict with public perception.
The controversy comes at a time when TLC is enjoying renewed visibility and momentum. The group recently performed at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards alongside fellow legends Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue, highlighting their enduring influence in the music industry.
Looking ahead, TLC is set to hit the road for the “It’s Iconic” tour in summer 2026, a joint North American run featuring the three trailblazing groups. In addition, their legacy will soon be celebrated on stage with CrazySexyCool – The TLC Musical, premiering at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., this June.
