Autopsy Finds Homicide in Death of 14-Year-Old Found in Car Linked to Singer D4vd

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has released the autopsy report for 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were found in a vehicle linked to singer David Burke, known as D4vd.

According to the report, Celeste died from multiple penetrating injuries. Investigators found several wounds to her torso caused by a sharp object, including one that pierced her liver. The death has been ruled a homicide.

The examination was complicated by advanced decomposition, as the remains were not discovered until September 2025. The report also confirmed that Celeste’s upper and lower limbs had been dismembered.

David Burke was arrested on April 16, 2026, and faces several charges. These include first-degree murder with special circumstances, allegations of lewd acts with a minor under 14, and mutilation of human remains. Prosecutors claim Burke killed Celeste around April 23, 2025, after she threatened to report a sexual relationship that could have damaged his career.

Burke appeared in court on April 20 and pleaded not guilty. His attorney has said the evidence will show he was not responsible for the girl’s death.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has indicated it may seek the death penalty due to the severity of the charges.

Celeste had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore in April 2024. Authorities believe she had been living with Burke in Los Angeles before her death. The case remains under investigation.
