Christina Applegate Hospitalized in Los Angeles Following Ongoing Health Struggles

Actress Christina Applegate has been hospitalized in Los Angeles, according to reports that surfaced on April 16, 2026. While the news only recently became public, multiple outlets indicate she was admitted in late March.

Applegate is currently receiving care at a local medical facility, though specific details about her condition have not been disclosed. Her representatives have declined to confirm the reason for the hospitalization or whether it is related to her previously diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In a statement to media outlets including TMZ and Us Weekly, her representative said there would be no comment on her current medical status, while noting her history of complex health issues.

The hospitalization comes shortly after the release of Applegate’s memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, published in March 2026. In the book, she describes living with chronic pain and spending extended periods confined to bed as a result of her illness. She characterizes her condition as unpredictable and physically demanding.

Around the same time, Applegate and co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler paused production of their podcast, MeSsy. The break was initially attributed to scheduling demands related to her book tour, but the timing coincides with reports of her hospital admission.

Applegate, who publicly revealed her MS diagnosis in 2021, has spoken openly about the complications she faces. She has said she has been hospitalized numerous times in recent years due to issues including infections, gastrointestinal problems, and severe nerve pain linked to the disease.

Despite ongoing health challenges, Applegate has continued to advocate for greater awareness of MS, using interviews, public appearances, and her podcast to discuss the realities of living with the condition. No further updates on her current status have been released.
