Eugene Mirman Seriously Injured in Fiery New Hampshire Car Crash

Actor and comedian Eugene Mirman was seriously injured in a car crash on the morning of March 31, 2026, in Bedford, New Hampshire, according to officials and his representative.

Mirman, 51, was driving a 2026 Lucid Gravity electric SUV northbound on the F.E. Everett Turnpike when he crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza shortly before noon. Authorities say the vehicle caught fire on impact, leaving him trapped inside.

He was pulled from the burning vehicle by a New Hampshire state trooper and two bystanders. Governor Kelly Ayotte, who was passing by with her security detail at the time, reportedly assisted by retrieving a fire extinguisher from her vehicle during the rescue.

Mirman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. His agent, Jay Glassner, described the incident as “very scary” but said the actor is recovering.

“He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him,” Glassner said in a statement. “He is grateful to be on the mend. At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Eugene and his family as he focuses on recovering from his injuries.”

New Hampshire State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. As of April 2, no charges have been filed.

Mirman is best known for voicing Gene Belcher on the animated series Bob’s Burgers, a role he has held since 2011. He has also appeared in Flight of the Conchords and Archer. Colleagues and fans have shared messages of support as news of the crash spread.
