Filming began in late February in South Carolina on the project, which is backed by The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend. In recent days, crew members have raised concerns about safety practices and management on set.
The most serious incident involved Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne, who reportedly fell through a window during filming. The window had allegedly been fitted with a temporary sheet of tempered glass for a later stunt, but it gave way unexpectedly. Both actors fell about six feet. Majors briefly lost consciousness, while Kilcoyne sustained cuts to his hands. A video of the incident has reportedly circulated online.
Following the accident, more than half of the crew walked off the job, citing unsafe working conditions and what they described as a hostile environment. Additional allegations from crew members include a rigged tree branch falling and striking the set medic, as well as concerns about hazardous filming locations. Workers said black mold was found at one site, and that producers pushed to use a building despite warnings it could contain asbestos.
Questions have also been raised about the hiring of special effects supervisor Chris Bailey, who reportedly has a prior conviction related to illegal possession of explosives on a film set and is said to be restricted from handling such materials.
Crew members further described a lack of basic organization, including the absence of an official crew list, which left uncertainty about roles and responsibilities on set.
Producers responded to inquiries with combative statements. In comments attributed to representatives of the production, they dismissed the strike and criticized those participating. In a separate statement, producers said they were focused on continuing production and downplayed the concerns raised by crew members.
Despite the walkout, filming is reportedly ongoing. Producers are seeking non-union workers to replace those who left, while the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) has advised its members not to cross picket lines.
Majors remains involved in the production as both the lead actor and an executive producer. The situation remains fluid as safety concerns and labor tensions continue to affect the project.
