The incident began during Lollapalooza Brazil, when Jorginho claimed that a member of Roan’s security team had aggressively confronted his 11-year-old daughter, Ada, at a hotel breakfast. In an Instagram post on March 21, he described the encounter as upsetting and criticized what he believed was the singer’s entourage.
The situation quickly drew attention online. The following day, Chappell Roan responded publicly, stating she had no knowledge of the interaction and had not instructed any security to intervene. She also clarified that she had not even seen Jorginho or his family at the time.
Nearly three weeks later, on April 13, Jorginho issued a new statement reversing his initial claims. After reviewing additional information and speaking with people involved, he said the security guard in question was not part of Roan’s team at all, but was working for a different artist staying at the same hotel.
“It became clear that she had no knowledge of what took place at breakfast,” Jorginho said, adding that the guard himself has since confirmed he represented someone else.
Jorginho acknowledged that his first reaction came in the heat of the moment, driven by concern after seeing his daughter upset. He also expressed regret for the impact his earlier post had on Roan.
The footballer noted that Roan had privately reached out to his wife, Catherine Harding, to offer support and clarify her lack of involvement. According to Jorginho, that outreach helped resolve the situation and clear up confusion.
