Kate Hudson Says Aging Brings Freedom and Confidence

Kate Hudson says she is enjoying getting older and feels confident about aging.

The actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 23, shortly after her 47th birthday on April 19. When Fallon wished her a happy birthday, Hudson joked, “I’m so old,” before quickly adding that she actually likes getting older.

“I love it,” she said. “I really think I’m going to be a great old person. It gets better, and you don’t have to care as much.”

Hudson said she celebrated her birthday with a casual gathering that included a crawfish boil and a beignet cake. She described the event as relaxed and fun, with food like corn, sausage, and potatoes served alongside music.

“It’s the best,” she said.

Earlier this year, Hudson also spoke about taking a more relaxed approach to her lifestyle while preparing for her role in the film Song Sung Blue. She said she gained about 15 pounds for the part and did not follow a strict diet or exercise routine.

“I just let myself be and enjoyed life,” she told W Magazine. She added that while she values discipline and fitness, she also appreciates periods where she can be less structured.

Hudson is a mother of three. She shares her eldest son, Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, her second son, Bingham, with former fiancé Matt Bellamy, and her youngest child, daughter Rani, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.
