Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalized After Falling Ill During Broadway Performance

Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized Tuesday night, March 31, 2026, after becoming ill during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical in New York City.

The Grammy-winning rapper, who recently made her Broadway debut, exited the stage mid-show at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre when she began feeling unwell. The performance was briefly paused as medical personnel attended to her before she was transported to a nearby hospital.

A spokesperson for Megan confirmed the incident in a statement, saying, “Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated.”

Additional concern came from those close to the artist. Her longtime hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, posted a message on social media asking fans for support, writing, “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.”

Megan Thee Stallion joined the cast of Moulin Rouge! on March 24 for a limited run scheduled through May 17. She took on the role of Harold Zidler, marking a high-profile transition from music into live theater. Her casting drew significant attention from both fans and critics.

As of Wednesday afternoon, April 1, no further details about her condition or a diagnosis have been released. Her team has asked for privacy and said updates will be shared when available.

It is not yet known whether upcoming performances will be affected or if an understudy will temporarily take over the role.
