Olivia Munn Supports Amanda Peet After Early-Stage Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Olivia Munn has spoken out in support of her Your Friends & Neighbors co-star Amanda Peet following Peet’s recent disclosure that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Peet, 54, revealed in a personal essay published March 21, 2026, that she was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in the fall of 2025. The cancer was detected early due to regular monitoring every six months, which she undergoes because of dense breast tissue. Early detection allowed doctors to identify the disease at its earliest stage.

Munn, 45, who is herself a breast cancer survivor, responded publicly on April 6, emphasizing the importance of routine screenings. She described Peet’s experience as a clear example of how early detection can significantly improve outcomes and reduce the need for more aggressive, long-term treatments.

Peet has since undergone a lumpectomy followed by radiation therapy. She reported receiving a clear scan in January 2026.

The diagnosis came during a particularly difficult time in Peet’s personal life. Both of her parents were in hospice care on opposite coasts while she was undergoing treatment. Her father died in late 2025, shortly after her diagnosis. Her mother, who had Parkinson’s disease, died in January 2026, only days after Peet learned she was cancer-free.

Both actresses are now using their experiences to encourage others to prioritize regular medical checkups. Munn, who was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in 2023 and later underwent a double mastectomy and hysterectomy, has been especially vocal about the value of risk assessment tools and early screening in detecting the disease.
