Zayn Malik has revealed that he was recently hospitalized, sharing the update with fans on Friday, April 17, 2026. The announcement came the same day his fifth studio album, Konnakol, was released.

In a post on his Instagram Stories, Malik shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed, wearing a medical gown and connected to an IV and monitoring equipment. Alongside the image, he thanked fans for their support and acknowledged the medical team caring for him.

“To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always. Been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering. Heartbroken that I can't see you all this week,” he wrote. He also expressed gratitude to “the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin,” calling them “legends.”

Malik did not disclose the cause of his hospitalization, referring only to an unspecified illness. However, some fans have noted his mention of a cardiologist, which has led to speculation about a possible heart-related issue. No official confirmation has been provided.
