Anne Hathaway Responds to Facelift Rumors, Says Red Carpet Look Came From “Just Two Braids”

Anne Hathaway addressed rumors about her appearance in a new interview with Elle, saying people have become too quick to assume plastic surgery rumors are facts.

The 43-year-old actress explained that recent speculation about her possibly having a facelift became so widespread that she felt pressured to respond. Hathaway said she usually prefers to stay private and “live in the mystery,” but decided to post an Instagram video showing a hairstyling trick instead.

In the video, her hairstylist used two small braids near Hathaway’s temples to create a lifted look on the red carpet. Hathaway said the effect came from “just two braids,” not cosmetic surgery.

She also said online discussions about plastic surgery involve “huge medical decisions” that people should not casually assume about others.

At the same time, Hathaway said she is not ruling out cosmetic procedures in the future. “I might still get a facelift someday,” she said.

The actress also reflected on moving past the intense public criticism known as “Hathahate,” which peaked around her 2013 Oscar win for Les Misérables.
