Kevin Bacon Says Bees Attacked Him During Family Hike

Actor Kevin Bacon recently shared a story about getting attacked by bees while hiking with his daughter, actress Sosie Bacon, and her partner, actor Scoot McNairy.

In a video posted on Instagram, Bacon explained that the group noticed a beehive during the hike. McNairy spotted it first, and Sosie warned her father to be careful.

Still, Bacon said the bees suddenly swarmed him.

“Scoot was in the front, Sosie was in the middle, and I was holding up the rear,” Bacon said. “These bees must not have liked my work or something, because they left the two of them alone and went full-on after me.”

The Footloose star joked that the bees targeted only him. He said he was stung several times, including under his shirt.

Although no one filmed the real incident, Bacon asked Sosie to recreate what happened. The Instagram video then showed Sosie acting out her father’s reaction. She pretended to run from the bees, waving her arms, throwing her cap, and struggling to pull off her sweatshirt.

Bacon said her performance was exactly how he behaved during the attack.

His wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, praised the video in the comments, calling it “sooooo gooood!!” Actress Mary Steenburgen also commented with support for the family.

The story comes shortly after the Bacon family worked together on a new film called Family Movie. The project stars Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Sosie Bacon, and Travis Bacon.

At the South by Southwest festival in March, Sosie said she was nervous about working with her parents because she worried family tensions could appear on set. However, Travis said the experience turned out to be positive and collaborative.

He described making the film together as “magical.”
