While speaking on stage, Davidson said, “What’s left of Lizzo is here,” before comparing her transformation to Eddie Murphy’s character in The Nutty Professor movies. The audience, including Lizzo, laughed at the joke. Lizzo was seen clapping and smiling during the moment.
Lizzo, 38, has spoken publicly in recent months about changes to her health and eating habits. In an interview on the Just Trish podcast in June 2025, she said she briefly tried GLP-1 weight-loss medications such as Ozempic.
“I tried everything,” Lizzo said. She explained that the medication helped reduce hunger but said she later focused on changing her diet instead.
The singer said leaving a vegan diet played a major role in her weight loss. According to Lizzo, she had been eating large amounts of bread, rice and meat substitutes to feel full. She said that after adding foods like chicken, beef and fish back into her meals, she felt more satisfied and ate less processed food.
Lizzo has also responded to criticism and debate surrounding her body-positive message after her appearance changed.
In an interview with Women’s Health last year, she said body positivity is not about staying the same size. She described it as “the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn’t exist.”
The Grammy-winning artist also said exercise is important for her mental health and helps improve her mood.
