Savannah Guthrie Spends $500K on Private Search for Missing Mother Nancy

Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie has reportedly spent more than $500,000 on private investigators to search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, according to The U.S. Sun.

Nancy, 84, disappeared from her Arizona home on February 1. Surveillance footage later showed a masked man outside the house removing a Nest security camera before the abduction.

Sources claimed Savannah became frustrated with the official investigation and hired a private team that includes former agents, security experts, and investigators. Insiders said the TV host remains determined to continue searching for her mother despite the growing financial cost.

The case has also sparked tension between the FBI and local authorities. FBI Director Kash Patel criticized the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, saying federal agents were not fully involved during the crucial first days of the investigation. He also questioned the decision to send DNA evidence to a private lab instead of the FBI’s Quantico facility.

Sheriff Chris Nanos denied the accusations and said FBI personnel were involved from the beginning of the case.

More than 100 days after Nancy’s disappearance, authorities have not announced any major breakthroughs.
