Tom Hardy May Return to ‘MobLand’ Despite Firing Rumors

Tom Hardy may still return to MobLand despite recent reports that he was fired from the Paramount+ crime series.

According to Variety, sources close to production said Hardy was not officially dismissed and that discussions are ongoing about his possible involvement in season 3. The report comes days after Puck claimed the actor had been removed from the show after filming season 2.

Sources told Variety there were tensions between Hardy, co-creator Jez Butterworth, and producer David Glasser during production. Hardy was reportedly late to set at times and wanted script changes, while he was also frustrated that scripts were often delivered shortly before filming.

Rumors that Helen Mirren was upset with Hardy were also addressed. Sources said Mirren occasionally urged Hardy to speed things up on set but was never strongly against working with him.

Season 2 has already finished filming, though the show may still need Hardy for reshoots. Variety added that producers are unlikely to recast his role, though the series could continue without his character if needed.

Hardy recently appeared publicly at the Masters of the Universe premiere after-party in London but did not speak about the reports.
