In an interview with Empire, Holland said he would like to do for a future Spider-Man what Robert Downey Jr. did for him when Tony Stark introduced Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. He said he would be happy to help launch a successor such as Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, or Spider-Woman before “swinging off into the sunset.”
Holland has played Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2016 and has become one of Marvel’s biggest stars. His three standalone Spider-Man films have been major box-office successes, with Spider-Man: No Way Home earning about $1.9 billion worldwide.
The next film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled to be released on July 31. Speaking to GQ, Holland said the movie recently filmed extra scenes, but stressed they were not essential to the story. He described the additions as “icing on the cake,” including more humor and changes to a villain storyline.
