The actress shared the update during a recent interview with Fandango’s Big Ticket while promoting her upcoming film The Drama. Speaking candidly, Zendaya said she wants to take a break to avoid overexposure and focus on her personal life.
“I just hope you guys don’t get sick of me this year,” she said. “After this, I’m disappearing for a little bit. I’m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit.”
Her comments come as she prepares for a packed release schedule. In 2026 alone, Zendaya is set to appear in multiple high-profile projects across film and television. These include the romantic thriller The Drama, the long-awaited third season of Euphoria, and several major blockbuster films.
Among them are The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Dune: Part Three. The lineup will keep her in theaters and on streaming platforms almost continuously throughout the year.
Zendaya joked that with so many back-to-back premieres, she wants to make sure audiences don’t “get sick” of seeing her. Still, she made it clear the decision to step back is intentional and necessary.
The move follows an intense period of work, including filming large-scale productions and completing what is expected to be an emotionally demanding season of Euphoria. Taking time away, she suggested, will allow her to recharge creatively.
There has also been growing speculation about her personal life. Reports earlier this month suggested that Zendaya may have secretly married fellow actor Tom Holland. While neither has confirmed the rumors, some fans believe her planned break could be tied to spending more time with family.
For now, however, Zendaya is focused on delivering a string of major releases before stepping back. If her plan holds, 2026 will mark both a peak in her career and the beginning of a temporary retreat from the public eye.
