Billie Eilish Denies Rumors of Falling-Out With Brother Finneas

Billie Eilish says there is no conflict between her and her brother, Finneas O’Connell, despite rumors suggesting otherwise.

In an interview with Elle published Tuesday, Eilish addressed speculation that the two had a falling-out. She firmly denied it, saying their relationship remains strong. She explained that while they may argue like typical siblings, they quickly move past disagreements and continue working together.

Eilish emphasized how important Finneas is to her music. She said she relies heavily on him creatively and suggested she might struggle to make songs without him. At the same time, she acknowledged that both of them are trying to balance their close working relationship with having more independent lives.

During her recent tour for the 2024 album Hit Me Hard and Soft, the siblings spent less time together than before. Eilish noted that their busy schedules sometimes meant they only saw each other shortly before performances. She also felt that Finneas, who used to be a constant presence in her band, had more opportunities to pursue his own projects.

Finneas has been focusing on his solo career, releasing his own music and touring independently. He is also highly successful, with 11 Grammy Awards, while Eilish has won 10.

Despite spending more time apart, both siblings say they miss each other. Finneas said he values the trust and openness they share, and he admitted he missed being around his sister while she was on tour. He also made appearances at some of her shows.

A moment highlighting their bond appears in Eilish’s upcoming concert film, Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D). In the film, she reads a note Finneas sent her while she was on the road.

The film, directed by James Cameron, is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 8.
