Evan Rachel Wood says she still faces harassment after Marilyn Manson allegations

Actor Evan Rachel Wood has said she continues to experience harassment years after accusing her former partner, musician Marilyn Manson, of sexual abuse.

Wood first made the allegations in 2021, saying Manson—whose real name is Brian Warner—had groomed and abused her when she was a teenager. Because of the statute of limitations, she was not able to pursue criminal charges. After her claims became public, several other women also accused Warner of sexual abuse, including actor Esmé Bianco.

Warner has denied all allegations. In 2022, he filed a lawsuit against Wood, accusing her of fabricating claims and encouraging others to come forward falsely. A judge later dismissed key parts of the case, and Warner dropped the lawsuit. He was also ordered to pay about $327,000 in Wood’s legal fees.

In a recent interview with The Times, Wood described what she said was controlling behavior during their relationship. She alleged that Warner dictated aspects of her daily life, including when she slept, what she wore, and when she ate. She also claimed his assistants monitored her and reported back to him.

Wood further described what she called an intimidating environment around Warner. She said it operated “like a cult” and made it difficult to leave or speak out. She also alleged ongoing harassment, including being followed by cars, repeated phone calls, and phishing attempts targeting her devices.

Wood and Warner ended their relationship in 2011. Despite the time that has passed, she said the impact continues.

In 2025, California prosecutors dropped an investigation into Warner related to multiple allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence. Authorities cited the statute of limitations and insufficient evidence. Warner has not been charged with any crimes and has continued to deny the accusations, calling them false.
