Speaking at a Q&A during the Philadelphia premiere of the brand’s latest ad, The Last True Cold One, Kelce responded positively to a suggestion that the next project could parody the 1989 film When Harry Met Sally. Moderator Marc Farzetta floated the idea of a rom-com titled When Kelce Met Kylie. Kelce called it “a great idea,” indicating he would consider it for a future campaign.
Kelce also discussed convincing Kylie to appear in the latest ad, marking her first role in what the team informally calls the “Garage Beer cinematic universe.” He joked that she was reluctant to participate. “She thinks I’m a complete moron,” Kelce said, adding that they had to persuade her to join the project.
Kylie Kelce appears in The Last True Cold One as a sheriff, using a Delaware County (Delco) accent. According to Kelce, the accent was not originally planned. The production team had considered other character approaches but shifted after Kylie jokingly used the Delco accent during discussions. Kelce said they encouraged her to stick with it because it felt natural.
The ad is styled as a Western short film and was shot at the Mescal Movie Set in Benson, Arizona, a location known for classic Western productions such as Tombstone and The Outlaw Josey Wales. The story follows Kelce on a quest for cold beer in a town where only warm beer is available. His character faces off against a rival, played by former teammate Beau Allen, who controls access to ice.
Director Jordan Phoenix said the Western theme was chosen after earlier ads leaned heavily on recognizable film genres like martial arts and action. This time, the team aimed to create a broader homage to Westerns rather than parody a single film.
The Last True Cold One also serves to promote Garage Beer’s expansion into bottled products, timed for the summer season.
