Scott Wolf Says Media Attention Made Private Family Struggles “Bizarre”

Actor Scott Wolf is speaking about the challenges of dealing with a very public family crisis following his separation from wife Kelley Wolf after more than two decades of marriage.

The couple announced their separation in June 2025. Shortly afterward, a series of personal events became public, including Kelley Wolf being placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold and Scott Wolf seeking a restraining order. In the following months, Kelley was arrested for alleged online harassment and later ordered by a court to spend 60 days in a mental health facility. Scott Wolf eventually moved to dismiss the temporary protective order.

In a recent appearance on the podcast Whine Down With Jana Kramer, Wolf said the experience was unsettling, especially because private matters were quickly reported in the media. He described the situation as “bizarre,” noting that developments would appear in news outlets within days.

Wolf also discussed the impact on his three children—Jackson, 16, Miller, 13, and Lucy, 11. He said he made a deliberate effort to speak openly with them, especially his youngest daughter, to help her understand the situation and feel secure despite outside narratives.

He also reflected on his own mental health, sharing that he went through a difficult period in recent years. Wolf said he had previously tried to live up to an unrealistic standard of being a “perfect” parent, which ultimately proved unsustainable. He described moving away from that mindset as a turning point that allowed him to become more authentic.

Despite the challenges, Wolf indicated that the family is working toward recovery. In a recent statement, he said they are focused on “healing” and remain committed to being honest and supportive of one another, particularly for the sake of their children.
