Lucy Halliday Shares Experience Working With Elisabeth Moss on Hulu’s The Testaments

Following the April 8, 2026 premiere of The Testaments on Hulu, actor Lucy Halliday has spoken about her experience working with Elisabeth Moss, describing it as a major learning opportunity early in her career.

Halliday, who plays Daisy in the Handmaid’s Tale sequel series, said she was struck by Moss’s ability to manage multiple responsibilities on set while maintaining a strong performance. Moss returns to the role of June Osborne and also serves as a producer and occasional director on the series.

Speaking during a recent press event, Halliday said she was “in awe” of Moss’s presence and work ethic. She noted that Moss could lead scenes, oversee production elements, and still remain attentive to the cast. Halliday described watching Moss as a “masterclass,” adding that she hopes to reach a similar level in her own career.

She also emphasized Moss’s supportive approach on set. According to Halliday, Moss made an effort to help younger actors stay grounded, particularly during emotionally intense scenes tied to the show’s themes.

In The Testaments, Daisy is introduced as a “Pearl,” a new convert entering Gilead. By the third episode, it is revealed that she is actually a Mayday operative who grew up in Toronto. This marks a notable change from Margaret Atwood’s novel, where Daisy is identified as June’s daughter, Nichole. In the television adaptation, Daisy and June are separate characters, with June appearing in episode three to help rescue her.

Halliday has also pointed to the importance of voiceover narration in shaping Daisy’s character. She said it allows the audience to see Daisy’s internal thoughts and resistance, offering contrast to the oppressive environment of Gilead.

New episodes of The Testaments are scheduled to be released weekly on Wednesdays through April and May on Hulu.
