Michael B. Jordan Keeps First Oscar in Closet as He Focuses on Next Film

Michael B. Jordan says he is still figuring out where to keep his first Oscar.

The actor won the Academy Award for his dual role in Sinners. More than a month later, he revealed that the trophy is currently sitting in his closet. He shared this while speaking on the red carpet at the premiere of Netflix’s Swapped.

Jordan said he has tried placing the Oscar in different spots but has not found the right place yet. He added that he plans to display it eventually but is not in a rush, as he is already focused on his next project.

That next project is The Thomas Crown Affair, a remake of the 1968 film. Jordan will both direct and star in the movie alongside Adria Arjona. He recently introduced early footage of the film and said he wants to combine style, sophistication, and a stronger sense of purpose for the main character.

Even though he is looking ahead, Jordan said winning the Oscar remains a special moment. During his acceptance speech, he thanked his family, director Ryan Coogler, his co-stars, and several Black actors who came before him, including Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington.

Jordan won the award over other nominees including Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Wagner Moura, and Ethan Hawke.

After the ceremony, he celebrated in a simple way—by going to In-N-Out for a burger, continuing a tradition followed by many Oscar winners.
