The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member appeared at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas with noticeably less ink than in past appearances. However, photos showed a new tattoo near his ear: the name of his daughter, Scottie.
Davidson has been in the process of removing his tattoos for several years. In 2021, he said he planned to have most of them gone by the time he turned 30. He has since spent an estimated $200,000 on the removal process.
The procedure has taken longer and been more painful than he expected. In a 2025 interview with Variety, Davidson described it as “pretty horrible,” comparing it to burning off a layer of skin. Each session requires about six weeks of healing before the next treatment.
Although he intends to remove most of his tattoos, Davidson has said he plans to keep a few, including one of Hillary Clinton.
He has also said that removing the tattoos is part of maintaining his sobriety.
The new tattoo reflects a major change in his personal life. Davidson and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, welcomed their first child, Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, on Dec. 12.
Davidson has spoken openly about how much becoming a father means to him. His own father, a New York City firefighter, died during the Sept. 11 attacks when Davidson was 7 years old.
In a March interview with People, Davidson said he is enjoying fatherhood despite the challenges.
“Dad life is awesome,” he said. “It is exhausting and rewarding and cute. And I’m very lucky.”
