She explained that she is currently doing a series of college shows across the U.S., including stops at the University of Delaware, Tufts University, and Brandeis University. Larsson said she agreed to these performances earlier to help cover the high costs of her main tour.
Her North American “Midnight Sun Tour” ended earlier this month, and she will continue performing at festivals around the world through August. After that, she has planned concerts in Los Angeles, followed by shows in Australia and New Zealand.
Larsson has seen strong success recently with songs like “Lush Life,” “Midnight Sun,” and “Stateside,” a collaboration with PinkPantheress. Due to high demand, some of her tour venues were upgraded, and she has hinted at possibly doing arena shows in the future.
Even with her growing popularity, she chose to honor her college performance commitments. She said she does not like to cancel shows once she has signed a contract.
Larsson also shared that she never attended college and did not finish high school, though she considers herself intelligent. She said she enjoys performing for students and finds the college shows fun and exciting.
Yale gave her school merchandise, which she joked she would wear while pretending to be a student.
Looking ahead, Larsson will release a deluxe version of her album, Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, on May 1. It will include collaborations with artists such as Shakira, PinkPantheress, and Robyn.
