Former Employee Sues 50 Cent Over Alleged Retaliation and Harassment

Rapper and businessman 50 Cent is facing a lawsuit from a former employee who says she was fired after refusing to take part in illegal activities. His legal team strongly denies the accusations.

The lawsuit was filed by Monique Mayers, who says she worked for 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, for about 12 years in senior roles across his companies. She claims she was suddenly fired and later faced harassment and intimidation.

According to the complaint, Mayers says that during 50 Cent’s past bankruptcy issues, he asked her to hide assets in her name. She says she refused. She also claims he pressured her to file a false police report accusing his driver or bodyguard of stealing a car and $600,000 in cash. She says she refused that request as well.

Mayers alleges that after she would not cooperate, she was fired. She also claims 50 Cent influenced Forbes to remove a feature story about her and then continued a campaign of intimidation through messages, calls, and threats over several years.

She is suing for emotional distress and invasion of privacy. She is also asking the court to stop him from contacting or harassing her.

50 Cent’s attorney, Reena Jain, rejected the claims, calling them “baseless.” His representatives described Mayers as a former employee who was fired for cause more than five years ago.

His legal team also argues that the lawsuit is an attempt to get money and may fall outside the legal time limits for filing such claims. They added that when any alleged threats were reported, they encouraged Mayers to go to law enforcement and said they also contacted authorities to ensure the claims were investigated.

The case is ongoing.
