Alex Cooper and Tana Mongeau Speak Out on Women Being Pitted Against Each Other Online

Alex Cooper and Tana Mongeau are speaking out about how social media affects women and encourages conflict between them.

During a recent episode of Cooper’s podcast Call Her Daddy, the two influencers discussed online culture, internet drama and the pressure women face on social media.

Cooper asked Mongeau why society seems “fixated on creating competition between women,” especially online. Mongeau said she believes people may project their own feelings onto women online or be influenced by “internalized misogyny.”

She also said women are often criticized for behavior that would be accepted from men.

“If you're loud on what you want or if you want to direct your team and direct your employees, no one would even blink their eyes if a man did that,” Mongeau said.

Cooper agreed and said many successful women she has interviewed — including Shonda Rhimes, Kerry Washington and Michelle Obama — have experienced similar treatment.

“We’re all aware of the double standard,” Cooper said. “We love to pit women against women.”

The pair also criticized short-form social media platforms like TikTok. Mongeau said social media often promotes negativity and insecurity.

“It makes me so sad when I open it up,” she said. “What new woman are we hating today?”

Cooper added that she deleted TikTok because of the negativity.

Their conversation comes amid rumors of a feud between Cooper and influencer Alix Earle.

Speculation about tension between the two began after Cooper’s Unwell network dropped Earle’s podcast Hot Mess in February 2025.

The drama grew again in April 2026 when Earle reposted a TikTok video criticizing Cooper and accusing her of “profiting” from women’s vulnerable moments on Call Her Daddy.

Cooper responded with her own TikTok video, directly calling out Earle and telling her to speak openly instead of reposting comments from others.

“There’s no NDA. No one is stopping you,” Cooper said in the video.

Earle later replied in the comments, writing, “Okay on it!!” She also reposted Cooper’s video to her own TikTok page.

On May 12, Earle addressed the rumored feud during an appearance on the Today show after being announced as a 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star.

When asked if there was real tension between her and Cooper, Earle said the situation had been exaggerated.

“I love everyone,” she said, while also avoiding further discussion about the issue.
