Emily Blunt Recalls Meryl Streep Dancing to ‘Mamma Mia’ at Her Lake Como Wedding

Emily Blunt shared a funny story about Meryl Streep at her 2010 wedding to John Krasinski in Italy.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Blunt said guests were dancing on a boat on Lake Como when the DJ played “Mamma Mia.” Because Streep starred in the hit movie musical, Blunt’s mother and Krasinski’s mother started dancing toward her.

Blunt said Streep “indulged them” and joined in, even though she later admitted she “wanted to hurl myself into the lake.” Photos from the wedding show them all dancing together.

Streep and Blunt worked together in The Devil Wears Prada, while Krasinski acted with Streep in It’s Complicated.

The wedding took place at George Clooney’s Lake Como estate, which was later used as a filming location in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Clooney said he was surprised to learn the property appeared in the movie trailer and called Blunt a “dear friend.”
