Hayden Panettiere Shares Shocking Memory From Filming ‘Raising Helen’ at Age 13

Hayden Panettiere is reflecting on her early Hollywood years ahead of the release of her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 36-year-old actress revisited her experience filming 2004’s Raising Helen, where she starred alongside Kate Hudson under director Garry Marshall. Panettiere said she rarely rewatches her own projects, preferring to hold onto memories from the set rather than critique her performances.

She also shared surprise at seeing how mature she appeared onscreen at age 13 and recalled filming her “first makeout ever” during production, admitting she was shocked when the older actor used tongue during the scene.

The memoir covers both Panettiere’s career and personal struggles, including her abusive relationship with ex-boyfriend Brian Hickerson. She said she hopes readers find comfort in her experiences and feel less alone while facing their own challenges.
