Miley Cyrus Jokes About Alex Cooper at ‘Hannah Montana’ 20th Anniversary Premiere

Miley Cyrus made headlines at the world premiere of the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special after playfully calling host Alex Cooper “creepy” and “weird” during a lighthearted moment on stage.

The event took place on March 23, 2026, at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, where Cyrus reunited with former cast members to celebrate two decades of the hit Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.

While addressing the audience, Cyrus joked about her friendship with Cooper, revealing that the podcast host had moved next door to her. “She moved next door to me! Like, who does that?” Cyrus said, laughing. She clarified the remarks were playful, calling Cooper a “creepy superfan” before thanking her for helping bring the anniversary special to life.

Despite the teasing, Cooper served as an executive producer on the project and conducted a featured interview with Cyrus.

The premiere doubled as a reunion for several original cast members. Jason Earles, Cody Linley, Moises Arias, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, and Shanica Knowles attended the event. However, Emily Osment, who played Lilly Truscott, was absent due to filming commitments. She shared a tribute to the show on social media instead.

Cyrus also embraced the nostalgia of her Disney past, appearing in a blonde hairstyle reminiscent of her character and wearing a silver gown inspired by the original show.

The anniversary special includes surprise appearances from Selena Gomez, who previously guest-starred on the series, and Chappell Roan, who speaks about Cyrus’ influence on her career.

The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special began streaming on March 24, 2026, on Disney+ and Hulu. The 58-minute program features a retrospective look at the show along with a new musical performance by Cyrus dedicated to her younger self.
