Hostin said it’s usually obvious when cosmetic work has been done, and she believes public figures should be more transparent. Her criticism is not about the procedures themselves, but about what she sees as misleading narratives.

Unlike many in the industry, Hostin has been open about her own experience. In early 2023, she revealed she underwent a breast reduction, breast lift, and liposuction on her waist and chin in August 2022. She admitted she initially felt some shame but chose to share her story to help others feel less self-conscious.

Hostin also reflected on how beauty standards shaped her perceptions in the past. She said she once believed celebrities achieved their looks through healthy habits alone but now thinks many rely on medical or cosmetic interventions.
