Investigation Expands in Taylor Frankie Paul–Dakota Mortensen Case

The legal situation involving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen has intensified, with authorities confirming a new development in the case.

On March 24, 2026, the West Jordan Police Department in Utah said it is now investigating a third alleged domestic violence incident involving the former couple. The newly reported allegation is said to have taken place in 2024. Police are currently reviewing multiple videos tied to this claim.

According to authorities, Mortensen contacted police in February 2026 to report information related to the 2024 incident. As of March 25, investigators have spoken with Paul’s attorney but have not yet interviewed her directly.

This latest probe adds to an already complex legal situation.

Separately, the Draper City Police Department is continuing to investigate an alleged domestic assault that reportedly occurred in late February 2026. Both Paul and Mortensen have accused each other of abuse in connection with that incident.

A judge recently granted Mortensen emergency temporary custody of the couple’s 2-year-old son, Ever. He was also granted a protective order against Paul. A follow-up court hearing is scheduled for April 7, 2026.

The case has also been impacted by resurfaced footage from Paul’s 2023 arrest. The video, released by TMZ on March 19, shows her throwing metal barstools during the incident. The footage contributed to ABC’s decision to cancel Season 22 of The Bachelorette just days before its planned premiere.

Paul is currently serving a three-year probation under a plea in abeyance tied to the 2023 case. Legal experts say the new 2024 and 2026 investigations could lead to a motion to revoke that probation.

The ongoing situation has also affected production of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Filming for Season 5 has been paused, with reports indicating that cast members were uncomfortable continuing amid the allegations and active investigations.

In public statements, Paul has said she is a victim of “years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse.” Her representatives also described the leaked arrest footage as a “manipulative” attempt to shift attention away from Mortensen’s alleged behavior.

Mortensen has denied all allegations made against him. He has stated that his primary concern is the safety and well-being of their child.

Authorities have not announced any charges related to the newly reported 2024 incident. The investigations remain ongoing.
