The model said she has no connection to Epstein and explained that she initially chose not to comment in order to keep attention on survivors.
The mention of Hadid comes from a December 2015 email exchange between Epstein and another person whose identity is redacted. In the email, the individual asked Epstein about the rapid rise and high earnings of Gigi Hadid and her sister, Bella Hadid. The message also suggested that their father may have financially supported their careers.
Epstein rejected that claim and instead made a dismissive and crude comment suggesting the sisters were successful because they “follow directions.”
After being criticized on social media for not addressing the situation, Hadid responded in a now-deleted Instagram comment. She said reading the documents made her feel “sick to my stomach” and described it as “horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way, especially in this context.”
She also denied any relationship with Epstein, stating, “I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.” Hadid noted that she was about 20 or 21 years old at the time the email was written.
Addressing her career, Hadid acknowledged that she grew up with privilege but said her parents emphasized hard work. She pointed out that she has worked consistently since signing with IMG Models in 2012.
The release of the Epstein-related files has renewed attention on the many public figures mentioned in his communications. In this case, the documents indicate that Epstein was discussing the Hadid sisters as well-known figures, not as people he had personal ties to.
