Jacqueline Falk, Daughter of Actor Peter Falk, Dies at 60

Jacqueline Falk, the daughter of late actor Peter Falk, has died at the age of 60.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, she died on April 27 at a home in Los Angeles. Her death was ruled a suicide. Officials said the case is still under investigation, but her body has been released.

Jacqueline was one of two daughters adopted by Peter Falk and his first wife, Alyce Mayo. Her father was a well-known actor, best known for playing the detective Columbo on television. He died in 2011 at age 83 after living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Unlike her father, Jacqueline stayed out of the public eye and lived a private life.

Her sister, Catherine Falk, has been more publicly active. She has spoken about her experience during their father’s final years, including difficulties she said she faced in staying in contact with him. Her advocacy helped lead to a law known as “Peter Falk’s Law,” which aims to protect visitation and communication rights for adult children.

According to Catherine Falk’s organization, both sisters learned about their father’s death through media reports and their lawyer. They also said they were not informed about his burial.

No further details about Jacqueline Falk’s death have been released.
