On April 24, two days after Earth Day, the pop artist posted several images of herself on a beach and in the water without clothing. In the photos, she used her hands and graphic elements such as cartoon hearts to cover parts of her body. The caption read, “#earthday is every day.”
The images included handwritten-style messages layered over the scenes. One read, “Mother Nature is the divine feminine,” while another stated, “I am the infinite amount of things that I am made of.” A separate image featured the phrase, “Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe we are the aliens?” In a more playful photo, Kesha held rocks alongside the caption, “The most grounded pop star these rocks have ever seen.”
Some followers responded positively, with several agreeing with her reflection about humans potentially being “aliens.”
The post comes during a period of significant personal and professional change for the singer. In a May 2025 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kesha described feeling a renewed sense of freedom after ending her long legal and professional ties with Kemosabe Records in 2023. She has since launched her own label, Kesha Records.
“I’m a free woman,” she said in the interview. “I have autonomy over my voice, my likeness, my mind, my body, my spirit.”
Kesha characterized this phase of her life as a period of healing and self-discovery, adding that having control over her career has been transformative.
Her most recent album, Period, was released in July. She described the project as a return to form, saying it represents reclaiming her place as a leading figure in pop music.
