Rimes shared on social media that the three-day break came during a difficult period for their family. She described the anniversary as emotional, saying it included “tears and worry,” but also moments of laughter and gratitude. She emphasized the strength of their relationship and their ability to support each other through hard times.
The couple married on April 22, 2011. Reflecting on their relationship, Rimes noted that they have faced many ups and downs over the years and have learned how to navigate challenges together. She expressed pride in what they have built and said their 15 years of marriage feel like “just the beginning.”
In a separate post, Rimes marked the milestone with a lighter tone, joking about aging and recent experiences. She referenced a recent onstage incident in which her dental bridge fell out during a performance.
The singer had previously explained that the incident happened while she was performing her 1996 song “One Way Ticket.” She briefly left the stage to fix the issue, then returned and continued singing. Rimes said she had to manually hold the bridge in place during parts of the show.
She also recalled that performing “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” was especially difficult because the dental piece came loose again. Despite the disruption, she continued the concert and later described the experience as unusual but memorable.
Rimes, a two-time Grammy winner, maintained a sense of humor about the situation, calling it a rare “first” in her career and expressing hope it would not happen again.
