Speaking at the movie’s European premiere in London on April 22, Hathaway said she loved a look designed by Phoebe Philo. She described it as a white T-shirt with a long, flowing train, paired with white cropped pants and matching shoes. She had called it her favorite outfit during filming, but later learned from director David Frankel that the scene featuring it had been cut.
Photos of Hathaway wearing the outfit were taken during filming in New York City in July 2025, so fans were still able to see the look even though it does not appear in the movie.
Hathaway also spoke about how her character, Andy Sachs, has changed since the original 2006 film. In the sequel, Andy is now an award-winning investigative journalist. After losing her job, she ends up working again for her former boss, Miranda Priestly. Hathaway said both she and her character are now more confident and focused on being themselves, rather than trying to please others.
To celebrate the film, Hathaway wore a memorable outfit from the original movie during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She brought back Andy’s green coat with cheetah-print trim, pairing it with oversized black glasses.
Her stylist said the coat was chosen as a special way to end the press tour. Hathaway had purchased the coat at an auction. The original costume designer explained in the past that the outfit was meant to stand out against the gray city setting and reflect Andy’s growth.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now playing in theaters.
