Billie Eilish Finds Missing Hamster After Four Days Inside Closet Walls

Billie Eilish recently shared a story about her pet hamster, Tomato Bisque Soup, who escaped and lived inside her closet walls for several days.

Speaking on the podcast Good Hang With Amy Poehler, the singer said she received the dwarf hamster as a 24th birthday gift in December. The hamster, called Tomato for short, was rescued from a house where dozens of hamsters had been living in poor conditions.

Eilish described Tomato as energetic and mischievous. After about a month in a specially prepared hamster enclosure, the tiny pet escaped through a small air vent while Eilish was away on a trip.

When she returned home, Eilish first believed the hamster was sleeping inside a tunnel in the cage. But after several days without seeing Tomato, she realized the animal was missing.

Eilish searched the enclosure and feared the hamster had disappeared into the walls of her home. She said she texted friends to tell them Tomato was gone and worried she had failed as a pet owner.

As a final attempt to find the hamster, Eilish placed Tomato’s exercise wheel and pumpkin seeds outside the cage. The next morning, the seeds had disappeared. She then called for Tomato using a familiar voice, and the hamster crawled out from inside the closet wall.

According to Eilish, Tomato had survived four days without food or water while hiding in the walls. After the escape, the singer upgraded the hamster’s home with safer ventilation to prevent another incident.

The story led to comparisons with another celebrity pet escape. Actress Zoë Kravitz recently recalled how her mother Lisa Bonet’s pet snake disappeared inside Taylor Swift’s bathroom while Kravitz was staying at Swift’s home after the Los Angeles fires.

Kravitz said they had to partially damage the bathroom while searching for the snake, named Orpheus. The snake was eventually found safely, and Kravitz later explained the situation to Swift, who already knew about the incident.
