Kathy Griffin Revives Feud With Elisabeth Hasselbeck Over Viral ‘The View’ Clash

Comedian Kathy Griffin has criticized former The View cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck again, revisiting a tense on-air moment from 2010 that has remained part of Griffin’s comedy material for years.

In a YouTube video posted Tuesday, Griffin spoke about Hasselbeck’s recent temporary return to The View. Hasselbeck filled in earlier this year while current cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin was on maternity leave.

Griffin said she did not watch the episodes but joked about Hasselbeck during recent stops on her comedy tour. She also suggested younger audiences may no longer recognize Hasselbeck, saying, “Some of you young folks might not even know who she was.”

The comedian then revisited a famous exchange from 2010, when Hasselbeck confronted Griffin during a live interview on The View. At the time, Hasselbeck challenged Griffin over jokes she had made about the show’s hosts.

During the heated discussion, Griffin responded confidently, telling Hasselbeck, “This moment is what I live for.” The studio audience applauded Griffin’s reaction, something Griffin said still stands out to her today.

Griffin claimed Hasselbeck appeared surprised that the audience supported her during the exchange. She also said the moment generated media attention at the time.

In recent weeks, Griffin has continued making jokes about conservative media personalities, including former The View cohost Meghan McCain.

Griffin has had a long and sometimes controversial relationship with The View. She previously claimed she was once banned from the show before later being invited back. Over the years, she has frequently used stories about the program and its hosts in her stand-up routines.
